Ordering Google Fiber: what about the static IPs?
Most businesses signing up for Google Fiber ask us the question whether they should sign up for one (or five) static IP addresses—one of the questions that must be answered in the signup process.
For most businesses, it is good to order one, but five static IPs are not needed.
Avid’s Gigabit Complete router/firewall will be assigned a static IP address, giving our network center the ability to monitor all equipment on site and our service people the ability to remotely configure phones and perform troubleshooting.
Prior to Google Fiber installation, we’ll work with your IT provider to determine whether additional static IPs are needed. Your Google Fiber order can be easily amended if needed.
So to get your Google Fiber order moving, go ahead and sign up for one.
