Avid Welcomes Winning Streak Sports

Lenexa-based Winning Streak Sports makes sports banners featuring championship pro and college teams. They were hoping that their old phone system had a few more months of life. The ten employee company knew that their phone system was running on fumes, but they wanted to make the switch to Avid’s Cloud-based VoIP system at the same time Google Fiber was being installed. The wait for Google Fiber turned out to be longer than expected.

“We knew Google Fiber was in the office park,” said Lauren Larson, President of Winning Streak. “But we didn’t know the journey we were on to get it installed in our office.”

After some fits and starts, and a fairly lengthy waiting period, Winning Streak was cut over to Google Fiber and Avid Communications in April 2016.

Lauren kept a great sense of humor and regaled us with hilarious email threads about his journey to get fiber installed. The phone system replacement was anti-climactic, an outcome we work hard to make happen for our clients. We assured Lauren the hard part was over (getting the fiber) and that from now on, Avid would take good care of him and his business.

Best of all, the old phone system didn’t give up the ghost! Avid was prepared to configure and implement a new setup overnight if the need arose (which would have broken our record of replacing a dead system over a weekend), but Winning Streak was able to give the old equipment a dignified send-off.
