Building Hope for Autism – Golf Tourney at Iron Horse
By David Hollingsworth, Managing Member at Avid Communications
The opportunity to be the title sponsor for the inaugural Building Hope for Autism Golf was presented to us and we were thrilled with the opportunity to help a great organization and a great cause.
The event was truly exceptional. We were greeted with a beautiful, sunny day and 22 teams went out in the morning, followed by 32 in the afternoon. After the golf was completed, the after party started with drinks, music, silent auction and live auction–I am now a proud owner of a signed Bobby Witt Jr. bat!
Christian Okoye, former Kansas City Chiefs running back and fullback, was the special guest and we had the great fortune of having him play with our group. Being able to spend the day with a Chiefs legend, and a genuinely nice guy, was pretty special!
In addition to Laren Landgren, TJ Sauder and myself with Avid, Jim Ford (PatientLock), Ryan Tilman (Cytek), Jeff Metcalf (Salvus) and Mike Wallen (SilverSky) completed our two teams.
A special thanks to: Tim Zande for hosting the event, Mauria Stonestreet, for her work as Executive Director of Building Hope, Eric Stonestreet, Cameron Tucker in Modern Family, for joining us on the 10th hole, and Bob Faherty for making the initial introduction and for his significant contribution.
