Wifi takes off in school settings

Avid will soon be installing an extensive wifi system in the Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church school facilities, marking yet another educational client that is vastly upgrading wifi access for students, staff and guests.

Avid’s system is economical, high-speed and provides strong administrative control. We recommend a setup that essentially creates three networks. The administrative network provides relatively unfettered access for teachers and staff. The student network controls access to content to prevent access to inappropriate content. The guest network also controls access to content, but also limits the duration of the “guest pass,” keeping outsiders from potentially tying up network resources unnecessarily.

The Federal Communications Commission has recently announced wifi access at schools to be a top priority. We are proud to have already helped many progress schools implement this.
