Cybersecurity Internship – Rylan Martin
By David Hollingsworth, Managing Member at Avid Communications.
Earlier this week, we welcomed a new intern, Rylan Martin, to our Cybersecurity team. Rylan is currently a student at the Missouri Innovation Campus (MIC). The MIC is a partnership between the University of Central Missouri, Lee’s Summit R-7 School District, Metropolitan Community College, and more than 50 Kansas City businesses.
The internship is a three-year partnership. At the conclusion of the internship, Rylan plans to have his bachelor of science degree in Cybersecurity. He will have accomplished this only two-years after graduating high-school. The education received at the state of the art facilities at the MIC. combined with three years of work experience with Avid, should prepare Rylan to be a leader in Cybersecurity.
Rylan is a very smart, highly motivated, dedicated individual.
He is a CyberPatriot, a Certified Cisco Network Associate (CCNA), was a member of the Lee’s Summit High School soccer team, a Summit Technology Academy Ambassador and a member of the National Honors Society.
Avid is very happy to be a business sponsor of the MIC innovative accelerated learning curriculum. This program was developed in partnership with local businesses to help develop a skilled workforce to meet the technical challenges required by businesses here in Kansas City. Cybersecurity is challenging not only in the breadth and depth of technical challenges, but also finding professionals that can provide the evolving skills to meet the challenge.
We’re already seeing good things from Rylan, and we’re looking forward to seeing what he accomplishes in the months to come.
