Network Engineer
This person will be responsible for the design, implementation and management of Av-id’s advanced SIP-based voice and data network. Key aspects of the job will be know-ledge of core elements in the network, including the Session Border Controller, Media Gateway, firewalls, core routers and customer Integrated Access Devices. Experience in IP network design is crucial. We are looking for someone who has at least five years of network engineering expertise.In the converging world of voice and data, the individual’s data engineering experience will be most relevant, but additional knowledge of traditional voice engineering will be helpful.
The position is based in Kansas City, with limited travel, but the individual must be flexible, responsive to customer needs, and a quick learner. If you have the qualities listed above, and love to understand advanced technology and apply it to innovative, new services, this may be the position for you.
Account Executive
This person will be responsible for selling Avid’s services to mid-sized business customers. Because of the appeal of the service offering, this is not a high-volume cold-calling sales position, but requires the ability to assess complex customer needs and play an active role in defining the customer configuration. This is a field sales job.We are looking for individuals who possess or can quickly gain the technical knowledge to succeed in this position. Compensation will be based on new sales and on a residual of the customer base, so ongoing support for existing accounts is important in achieving high compensation levels.
Avid’s services span the fields of telecom and data networking, but for this position, the most critical knowledge is of commercial usage of voice services, and thus a knowledge of how customer phone systems are configured would be very useful.
This job is based in Kansas City and will have little travel.
Operations Technician
This position is within the Avid Network Operations Center in Kansas City, Mo. We are looking for detail-oriented individuals who are responsive to customer issues and have experience in network operations with a telecom service provider.This position involves no travel, but does involve “on call” duty during non business hours. Because of the nature of network upgrades, hours will include night or weekend work periodically.
